Top 5 New Years Resolutions

Happy 2010 everybody! It feels weird saying that...there were so many sci fi movies in the 80's taking place in the year 2010...it feels like we're living in the future or something. Aside from living one year closer to the flying car, everyone takes on the initiative in creating "new year's resolutions" Whether or not those resolutions are followed through is a different story. Most people promise to lose weight, or promise to go to church or whatever. I decided to create a set of endeavors myself...

Top 5 New Year's Resolutions

5. get a new, old car: i decided not to get a new car. I'd much rather get an old, cool junker that can get me around and cut on car insurance. something like an impala or a camaro? for those that don't know, New Jersey has the highest car insurance rates in all 50 states. exp +1

4. upgrade my crib: preferably some place where my neighbors aren't meth heads. a working stove would be nice too, but i don't want to get too overzealous.

3. get a passport after home base is established:travel to exotic land, at least once this year. either europe or the orient. i'm not 100% sure. my next book depends on it, but first...

2. finish speed demonz and chiba: speed demonz 2 is long overdue. and i've been working on chiba since 2002? that's over 7 years on one title (but only about 100 pages. i'm a slacker) i've started on the conclusion, and i intend on finishing Chiba this year.

1. Learn something new: Although I'm learning a lot of new shit at my new job, i'd like to learn something more skillful and manly. Like learning to change my brake pads, or how to shoot a bow and arrow.

Here's hoping I defeat the top 5, and everyone else conquering their own desire to change for the better. Peace!

"Your plans may not work out as you hoped, but don't despair as this can lead to creative alternatives. Now that Mars is in your sign you are at your creative best. Even though Mars is retrograde, you are busy coming up with ideas to improve areas your life and make your environment more colorful. At this time it pays to look after your health, especially if you have a lot on your plate. Don't allow stress to get to you"

Now then...
I've decided to make my journal more fun and interactive, as opposed to me venting my personal business out on the internet. So I'm biting off Letterman, and posting up random top 5 lists. Why not 10? Because a fist has 5 fingers. Think about it...
Feel free to add any honorable mentions that I may have missed. So without further delay, here's the first in a new series of top 5 lists:

TOP 5 CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER

5. It's Always Sunny Christmas: "did you fuck my mom, santa?!" nuff said...

4. Bad Santa: normal people watch it's a wonderful life, or christmas story as a holiday tradition. i watch bad santa, or "badder santa" if you want to be a nerd about it.

3. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation: this movie is chevy chase's ticket to heaven.

2. Scrooged: bill murray making charles dickens awesome, which is a difficult feat.

1. Die Hard: The movie was taking place during christmas, so technically, this is a christmas movie. yippie kay yayy, mothafucka!

And let's not forget about this week's horoscope:
LEO
"You'll bump heads with someone of influence on Monday, Lion, as the Moon in stubborn Taurus squares Mars retrograde in Leo in your sector of self. The vulnerable Moon in sensitive Cancer opposes your personal ruler, the glowing Sun, on New Year's Eve. Yes, your feelings will be on tap! Thursday finds you wearing your heart on your sleeve as you say goodbye to the old year and welcome in 2010. You'll have a new sense of determination on Sunday"

See ya next year!

Avatar/Xenogears/and the Holidays...

  • Watching: Giants vs Deadskins
  • Playing: Xenogears

Hi!
So I saw Avatar a few nights ago on IMAX 3D. I wasn't exactly excited to see the movie in the first place, since it comprised mostly of furries, and furries are weird. But, they don't typically put bad movies on imax 3d, so i gave it a shot. i must say, i was pleasantly surprised! visually, it was incredible. the cgi was obviously top tier, but a lot of the set pieces and general art direction was fantastic. I'm watching some of the creatures and plantlife and wonder "Damn, what was James Cameron smoking when he thought up of this shit?" Even if you're not into sci fi or whatever, it's worth a watch for the visuals alone. Especially on 3D. There were moments where i saw mosquitos fly by my ear, or dirt falling from the air after an explosion and thought i was in the movie. It was awesome! The overall plot was predictable, but only hardcore nerds give a shit about that. It was a fun, entertaining movie. Although the movie was long (3+ hours) it didn't feel like it was dragging on, like Lord of the Rings did. The furry sex scene was a bit weird...but I'm hardly the person to judge, so whatever. Avatar is a good movie. There. I said it.

I made it past disc 2 in Final Fantasy 9. But since there is no disc 3, I stopped playing and picked up Xenogears instead. I remembered really liking this when I first played it. But now that I'm playing it now, I can't help but feel really annoyed at several points. The plot is great, but the characters are so EMO. It's worse than fucking Degrassi, it's so emo. Plus, the bosses are hard as shit. I'll have to sit through a half hour cutscene, without being able to skip it. Fight the boss. Get cheesed-out by the boss and die, then i'll have to sit through the cutscene again and more than likely lose to the boss again? Fuck that shit! Xenogears can go eat my balls.

Aside from that, I'm trudging along through the holidays. Christmas is this Friday, so that should be fun. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, or Hanikah, or Kwanka, or whatever the shit you celebrate. As long as you're enjoying yourself, it's all good.

Here's a horoscope for my lions:
"Mars has recently turned retrograde in your sign, so plan your days as much as possible. Give yourself a chance to pamper yourself and look after your health and well-being. Jupiter moves to conjunct Neptune in your relationship zone, so you will be able to rely on others to give you the help you need. Perhaps the only thing stopping you from asking is pride - one of your pitfalls. Don't let it. With careful handling, you can have so much fun over this festive week."
ha!

Tis the season...for Final Fantasy 9

Mon Dec 14, 2009, 5:18 PM
  • Mood: Shitty
  • Listening to: Camron- I got it in Ohio
  • Reading: Speed Demonz
  • Watching: Married with Children
  • Playing: Final Fantasy 9
  • Eating: sandwitch
  • Drinking: caffeine
Yo.
Happy Monday peoples. Not feeling too good today, but whatever. the show must go on.
I posted a teaser of this slipshine pinup i did for the holidays. i cropped the naughty bits. it's work-safe, so don't have a cow, man. i'm working feverishly on speed demonz whenever i get the chance. I'm also sneaking in chunks of time, playing Final Fantasy 9. I got bored with the next gen games, so i decided to go old school and pick up a game i haven't played in a while. so i brushed the dust off final fantasy 9 and started playing. i actually like it! the story is engaging, and none of the characters piss me off. there's a great dynamic between zidane/garnet/steiner/and vivi. even the side characters are cool. I might have to break out some Beatrix fanart soon. The only shitty thing is, I'm getting into this game that I'm eventually going to have to stop playing because I'm missing disc 3. Like trying to finish a puzzle with a missing piece. Oh well.

Here's a horoscope for all the lions out there:
"The Universe is in a muddle this week! Monday, the Sun in idealistic Sagittarius squares erratic Uranus and you may slip and fall unexpectedly, both literally and figuratively. Wednesday's New Moon in the Zodiac Sign of the galloping Centaur brings wanderlust to the fore, and you'll go off in search of Shangri-La. Sunday, your enthusiasm for new adventure cools off as Mars turns retrograde in Leo. For the next three months, your appetite will simmer down, as will your passions."

wow...that is depressingly true. fuck you universe!

Tiger Woods, yo!

Tue Dec 8, 2009, 6:45 PM
  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: Rod Stewart- Young Turks
  • Reading: Speed Demonz
  • Watching: Hero (Jet Li)
  • Playing: Final Fantasy 9
  • Eating: Chicken, rice and tostones
  • Drinking: water
Shout out to Tiger Woods. Your marriage and reputation might be ruined, but a salute you for banging all those top tier white girls. "Goodbye fried rice, hello fried chicken." lol!

What's good people? I apologize for the late update. I stared my new job yesterday, and I was very tired. For those that don't know, I'm corporate again. I'm doing graphic art and marketing for this big credit consulting company, who's name I won't mention for my personal protection. But it's ok. I have to wear a suit and tie everyday, but I really don't mind. I look kinda hot in a suit...like a puerto rican james bond. james juan. It's not as fun and laid back as my last job at the video game company, but it's more "hands- on". I feel...mature. Plus, there's a chic that works there that looks like a really hot version of Pam Beasly with glasses. Never dip in the company ink, kids. Just look at Tiger Woods, if you don't believe me. But aside from that, i'm cooking up a quick holiday card for my Slipshine readers, then I'm finishing up Speed Demonz. It's sooooo close to getting finished, but sooo far from perfection. After the first book bombed, I'm taking my time to make sure issue 2 is the shit. More on that soon...stay tuned!
